Sam Smith thinks hype around Adele's James Bond theme was greater

Sam Smith says his James Bond theme had less "hype" than Adele's.

The singer has recorded the track 'Writing's On The Wall' for the upcoming Bond movie Spectre.

Today (September 25) the tune was released online after receiving a radio premiere.

Adele recorded the last Bond theme 'Skyfall' in 2012, with the song winning an Oscar and a Golden Globe.

Speaking to The Sun, Smith said that Adele's release had more buzz than his.

He said: "It's different with Adele. The hype around 'Skyfall' was a lot greater.

"I have been releasing music for the past year and been on the scene, so it feels kind of natural to move into that place."

Smith added that Spectre director Sam Mendes was involved in the creation of the theme, including in some of the lyrics.

The film will be released on October 26.
