Selena Gomez has thanked her fans after admitting that she had a stint in rehab recently.

The singer's rep confirmed that the US star entered a rehabilitation facility in January and stated that it wasn't related to substance abuse.

She has been keeping relatively quiet recently but she has now taken to Instagram to thank her fans for their support.

Gomez added that she has been doing all she can to the "best of her ability", but stopped short of giving more information about her personal life.

The 'Come & Get it' star said: "I've done everything I could to the best of my ability. Thank you for the unconditional love and cyber hugs. You inspire me."

Gomez also uploaded a photo of herself having fun on a boat.
