Selena Gomez on depression struggle: 'I drove my crazy for a while there'

Songstress Selena Gomez has opened up about dealing with low moods and confessed that there were times recently where she struggled to go outside.

Speaking exclusively to V magazine, the beauty opened up about her battle with minor depression and confessed that she 'drove herself crazy' because she got to the point where she didn't want to leave her house:

"There were a few months where I was a little depressed, where I wouldn't leave [my home] as much. I think I drove myself crazy for a little bit." She added: "It was just easier to say, 'Hey, do you mind running to the grocery store and picking some stuff up? I don't want to get photographed.'"

She also posed for a photoshoot with V magazine, which was shot by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, and the pictures have now been unveiled.

Back in January, Gomez told People magazine that she lost sight of herself so worked hard to get back on track: "The hardest part [of having success at a young age] is knowing what you want and being true to your own instincts. You're listening to a lot of people telling you how you should behave, what you should wear, how sexy you should look. I started losing sight of the kind of person I wanted to be. Once I had a clearer idea of who I was, it made everything else a lot simpler."
