Selena Gomez on why she chose such a revealing cover for album

Hitmaker Selena Gomez has opened up about her new album artwork, in which she poses nearly naked (shown below), and revealed that it is the perfect representation of where she is in her life at the moment.

During a new interview with Ryan Seacrest this morning (September 11), the songstress confessed that she knew the photo would be the cover for her new album, entitled 'Revival', as soon as she laid eyes on it:

"Of course, I could do the really super cool makeup and the really cool structured outfit. I can do that whole thing, but I chose this one because it’s stunning and I thought it was such a beautiful representation of where I am.”

She also spoke about her positive approach to body-shaming after being made fun of for posting a photograph of herself in a bikini, adding:

"I did gain weight, but I don’t care. I did [before]. You know what’s interesting? I posted this photo on Instagram and I was like, ‘There’s more to love and I’m happy with myself.’ The reason why I did that was because I didn’t want them to win. Because then the next day, it wasn’t about how I gained weight, it was about how I embraced it. And that’s just kind of my approach.”
