Selena Gomez on getting taken seriously: 'People still think I'm 16'

'Good For You' songstress Selena Gomez has revealed that her new album 'Revival' showcases her new-found maturity and she's looking forward to people taking her more seriously.

During an interview with Z100's Elvis Duran, the beauty admitted that she does struggle to be taken seriously because she looks very young, but she hopes her new record will secure her place in the adult world:

"I think people still think I’m 16. Which is fair, because sometimes I still look 16. But I think ultimately it’s [about] confidence, so I’ll start with that."

The superstar went onto add that she took full control over this record, which is very exciting for her: "Going into this album...I did executive produce it, so I had to come in with full control and you can hear it!"

She concluded that she really wants to have a family in the future and that's what she would describe as her "ultimate goal": "I love what I do. I can’t imagine doing anything else -- but ultimately my goal is to be happy and have a family. That’s my life."
