Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift reach new milestones in the UK

America's pop music sweethearts Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have both achieved impressive new sales milestones in the UK this week.

The British Phonographic Industry confirmed this afternoon (April 8) that Gomez's single 'Hands To Myself' has now been certified Silver, which means that it has sold over 200,000 copies since its release. Swift's 'Wildest Dreams' has reached the same feat.

Other BPI Awards were announced today and Katy Perry's 'Birthday' has gone Silver, Rihanna and Drake's 'Work' has been certified Platinum (600,000 copies), and 'I Want It That Way' by the Backstreet Boys is also now Platinum.

The BPI also shared the following message via Twitter: "'This Is It' - the posthumous album by @michaeljackson has gone 2x Platinum in the UK! #bpiAwards."
