Selena Gomez has given an insight into her boyfriend Justin Bieber's relationship skills, calling him a "hopeless romantic".

Gomez has graced the cover of the July edition of US ELLE and in the accompanying interview, she opened up on Bieber.

It had emerged that the Canadian singer rented out the Staples Center in Los Angeles for a private screening of Titanic - something which Gomez said happened because she had merely mentioned to him that she would like to see the film again. She said:

"If I'll share anything with you [about her relationship with Bieber], it's that he really is a hopeless romantic. I had just mentioned it in the car - all I said is that I really want to see Titanic again, and then."

Gomez meanwhile, who is now a famed actress and singer, also opened up on her frugal upbringing. She said:

"I can remember about seven times when our car got stuck on the highway because we'd run out of gas money."

However, she added that her mother "saved up to take me to concerts. She took me to museums, aquariums, to teach me about the world, about what's real."
