Selena Gomez insists she's "super obsessed" with Britney Spears.

The actress-and-singer's new film 'Spring Breakers' features two sing-along's to two of Spears' hits - 'Baby One More Time' and 'Everytime.'

Gomez is a self-confessed Spears fan and says her fascination with the star dates back to her youth.

Talking to MTV News she admitted: "I mean she was the first CD I ever bought, the first concert I ever went to. I did a whole tribute to her on my tour last year, so, I don't know, I'm super obsessed.

She added: "It's universal language to girls in a way."

Earlier this month, Spears was shown a YouTube video of Gomez and the other girls from the cast of 'Spring Breakers', namely Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine, performing a karaoke-style cover of 'Hit Me Baby One More Time' at a SXSW press event in Texas.

The star loved her rendition so much she tweeted about it and shared the clip with millions of followers.

Writing on the social networking site Spears exclaimed: "Awww @selenagomez can duet with me anytime. PS- I heard @springbreakers is AAA-MAZING! Can't wait to see it!"

Gomez replied with: "@BritneySpears I can't breath. [sic] My life is made! Thank you!!"
