Pop singer and actress Selena Gomez has revealed that her friend Taylor Swift has been giving her tips on how to write a really great break-up track.

During a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres, newly single Gomez explained that she often has trouble gathering her thoughts and emotions after splitting from a partner, which makes writing about it tricky although Swift has now stepped in with some good advice:

"Yeah, she obviously has her own technique to it that works so well with her and she just knows how to make hits. I like to keep things a little more internal and that's just because I'm trying to dabble into it a little bit more and she's helped me actually, giving me great advice on how to do that."

The 'A Year Without Rain' beauty also admitted that her relationship with Swift is solid and praised the superstar's personality: "I think she's one of the strongest girls I've ever met, to be honest, I think she's really strong and very passionate. I love that."
