It’s been a busy few months for Bombay Bicycle Club. Following their return last year, the band released their eclectic new record last month to widespread support, and they’ve just completed a celebratory and sold-out tour of the UK that included two triumphant shows at London’s Alexandra Palace, a brisk walk from where the band grew up and rehearsed in their earliest days.

The rest of the year is looking likely to be mapped out on the road. A performance at the BBC 6Music Festival in London next month is followed by a tour of Europe and a return to the US throughout April, May and into June. The summer schedule is also starting to fill up nicely, with Bombay Bicycle Club already announced to headline the Truck and Lost Village Festivals, with more to be shared imminently.

"Is It Real" has quickly become a new standout in a live set crammed full of them. It’s a metronomic, insistent tune that quickly helps set a winning tone for this excellent new record.

Largely written in Cornwall and recorded out in the US alongside Grammy Award winning producer John Congleton (St. Vincent/Sharon Van Etten/War on Drugs), Bombay Bicycle Club have continued to grow, develop and evolve since the release of their debut album, I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose, back in 2009. Rarely in recent years has there been a British guitar band who have the craft and ability to avoid categorisation whilst uniting hundreds of thousands of fans across the globe. With an innate ear for melody and invention, the four-piece are a very welcome return to the fold just as British guitar music makes a timely renaissance.
