GRAMMY-nominated, CMA and ACM Award-winner Jessi Alexander -- one of Nashville’s most sought after and beloved creatives -- had no intention of making a new record, but sometimes songs can take on a life of their own. Alexander was equipped with an arsenal of hits as a writer for Miley Cyrus, Morgan Wallen, Celine Dion, Blake Shelton, Ashley Monroe, Lee Brice and Dierks Bentley (among others), but along the way realized there were tracks she couldn’t imagine anyone else singing. Those tracks became ‘Decatur County Red’, her first album since 2014.

Created alongside husband and GRAMMY-nominated musician/producer/songwriter Jon Randall Stewart and Leslie Richter, this eight track album is as country as it gets. It’s a no-frills snapshot of Alexander at her most authentic, unvarnished and true.

With a cabin she inherited from her late-grandmother as her muse, Alexander drew inspiration from every facet of her beautiful, complicated and remarkable journey. Along the way, she’s “whittled her sense of southern storytelling and country hooks to a razor’s edge” (Rolling Stone), which is abundantly apparent across each track on ‘Decatur County Red’. From wryly tackling life as a working mom-of-three (“Mama Drank”), to barn-burners about nights of hell-raising porch drinking (“Country Music Made Me Do It” feat. Randy Houser), to tragic, heart wrenching exposés that slice life wide open to let the pain and desire pour out (“I Should Probably Go Now”), Alexander has crafted an undeniable love letter to the people, places and music that made her.
