While Twenty Thousand Hertz received their latest honors in the Science & Education field, the show was also nominated in Television & Film with "Mother of Dragons(ounds)," unpacking the deeply personal creation process of the fantastical voices in Game of Thrones. Following their 2019 victory for Best Original Music / Sound Design, Twenty Thousand Hertz and host Dallas Taylor continue to prove their breadth of talent in telling the surprising, inspiring stories behind the world's most recognizable and interesting sounds.

The Guardian explains that Dallas Taylor's "love of everyday noises knows no bounds." As host of Twenty Thousand Hertz and Creative Director of Defacto Sound, the sound design studio that's brought thousands of blockbuster trailers, global ad campaigns, award-winning films, and TV series to life, Dallas is devoted to elevating the collective consciousness towards human hearing. In a culture that favors sight, taste, touch, and smell, he's made it his mission to reveal the power and significance of sound.

Dallas Taylor was recently announced as a Mainstage Speaker at TED2020. At 8pm ET on May 21, he will deliver a talk about the importance of John Cage's 4' 33", a composition he previously dissected and demonstrated on the episode of Twenty Thousand Hertz here.

Prior to the TED talk this Thursday, Dallas will host a Reddit AMA on r/IAmA, beginning at 1:30pm ET.

Dallas has recently been featured in audio-centric conversations at The Wall Street Journal, LA Times, and Washington Post. For the latest from Twenty Thousand Hertz, check out their new episode on the sonic universe of Star Wars, and how each effect - from the whirr of the lightsaber to the bleeps of R2D2, even the roar of Chewbacca - was created from scratch, one at a time.
