Sia has taken to Twitter to clarify some quotes attributed to her about Katy Perry.

The Australian and the US star have previously worked together on the latter's 2013 record 'Prism'.

Sia was recently quoted by Rolling Stone as saying that she quit within an hour of a writing session.

The musician apparently said: "Can we both agree that this doesn't work?"

The singer and songwriter took to Twitter today (December 8) to clarify the remarks, saying:

"Would like to go on record - @katyperry is one of my all time favorite pop star humans.

"misheard - @RollingStone i actually said 'can we still be friends if this doesnt work? Our whole songwriting dynamic?'

"Just felt like clarifying, because it made me sad that it seemed somehow dismissive, when I so genuinely care about her and our friendship! [sic]."
