Simon Cowell worries over One Direction: "They can't carry on doing the amount of stuff they've been doing for long"

Simon Cowell has voiced his concerns over the future of One Direction.

The X Factor judge who put the band together and signed them to his Syco label spoke to The Sun’s TV magazine about his fears over the band continuing to work at their usual pace:

“They can't carry on doing the amount of stuff they've been doing for long because they'll burn out - it's a high-class problem.”

Cowell added: “'But they don't complain about working hard.”

Despite 55-year-old Simon’s qualms about One Direction’s current work rate he is confident that they will continue to be successful:

“They're going to be around as long as they want to be, because they're talented and good writers - and they understand their fans.”

One Direction will be performing ‘Where Do Broken Hearts Go’ tonight (December 14) on the final of The X Factor.

Simon Cowell – who has two contestants, Ben Haenow and Fleur East, competing for the winning title – also spoke about the ‘Steal My Girl’ group’s involvement in the show:

“They still come down to The X Factor, into song meetings and they will text me with ideas for the contestants. They're generous to other artists. You don't see that very often. Most artists couldn't give a damn about anyone but themselves!”
