A host of changes to this year's X Factor format have been revealed.

The ITV talent show is due to return to UK screens from this weekend onwards.

Not only will the panel be different - Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw are new additions - but its format will see a few alterations too.

The auditions will revert to being held in arenas with fans - not a small room.

Dancers and props are also allowed in the auditions, while the boot camp stage takes place in a country house.

The categories of singers meanwhile will be given to the panel by a public Twitter vote.

Finally, the judges' houses section will be broadcast live.
