Global smash singer-songwriter James Arthur returns with a brand new single, "Empty Space", released on October 19.

'Empty Space' is a beautiful, soaring, guitar-led song about love and loss. The lyrics are trademark James. Raw and honest, they document the pain and self awareness that follows a break up.

"I've been drinking, I've been doing things I shouldn't do. Over thinking, I don't know who I am without you. I'm a liar and a cheat, I let me ego swallow me. And that's why I might never see you again. I'm alone in my head looking for love in a strangers bed. But I don't think I'll find it 'cause only you could fill this empty space."

James says: “This song is for anyone who has ever deeply loved and lost someone dear to them, and is then faced with the struggle of trying to fill that void. It is about coming to terms with the fact that only that special person can truly fill the empty space.”

The last two years have been remarkable for James. Since being released in September 2016, comeback single "Say You Won’t Let Go" has sold more than 10.8 million copies worldwide and secured over 2 billion combined streams. The single spent three weeks at No.1 in the UK and went to No.1 on US radio. In addition, James’ album "Back From The Edge", released in October 2016, went straight to No.1 in the UK charts and has gone multi platinum worldwide. James was also nominated for two BRIT Awards and an American Music Award for 'Best New Artist'.

2017 also saw both a 42-date arena tour with OneRepublic across the USA and a sold out 11-date UK arena tour. Since then James has continued to work on his new album with leading lights such as Ryan Tedder, Justin Tranter, and Max Martin.

In total James has sold over 24 million records globally. His single "Naked" was a smash hit late last year. It has been streamed an amazing 100 million times worldwide, with the video achieving 128 million views so far.
