CMW: Digable Planets Doodlebug To Join Abstract Artform ShowcaseFor Immediate Release: April 29, 2016 (Toronto) Winnipeg producer/rapper Abstract Artform has joined forces with Hip-Hop Icon Craig "Doodlebug" Irving from Grammy award winning group Digable Planets to form Living Proof. Two special live performances will take place Friday May 6th at Fuze and Saturday May 7th at the Painted Lady in Toronto as part of Canadian Music Week. Abstract Artform has released four solo full-length projects and has produced music with and for some of Canada’s and America’s greatest emcees. Abstract has maintained that relationships are the most important aspect of his success. One such relationship is with Doodlebug, whose smooth flow over jazz based instrumentals is a staple in almost every Hip-Hop heads collection. Digable Planets biggest hit “Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)” earned them the Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group Grammy Award in 1993. The group recently announced a reunion tour for 2016. A veteran and a young buck. An American and a Canadian. Black and White. These labels mean nothing. This is purely the connection of two people who love Hip-Hop, making music that has meaning, depth and most of all goes in pretty f#@%’n heavy. The Living Proof album was produced by Abstract Artform and also features Brain Cook (WHY) and Thrust (Northern Touch). The album which is available exclusively on white vinyl through Urbnet in Canada http://urbnet.com/livingproof is nominated for Prairies Rap Album of the Year (CUT CONNEX AWARDS).
