My Favourite Tragedy to “Change,” North Easton’s Music reflects his Life’s JourneyFor Immediate Release: June 16, 2016; Known for the bands Garrity and My Favourite Tragedy, singer songwriter North Easton has released the song “Change” to AC and CBC radio in Canada. The single will be on his upcoming debut solo album One Of The Lucky One’s to be released in October 2016. “The song was written on the week that I decided to cut off all of the dreads I had been growing for 6 years,” explains Easton. “I’m big on symbols in life and losing the dreads is a fresh step in a different direction. Releasing my first official solo record, cutting the dreads, taking a step back from My Favourite Tragedy, and embarking upon a brand new journey to push my career forward is truly the inspiration of this tune.” Easton is a prolific songwriter who has composed more than 1,000 songs and won a number of awards including Song of the Year, SongWars, NSAI Songwriting competition and the West Coast Songwriters Awards. As the principle writer of the Ottawa band Garrity, Easton won the CMW Independent Music Awards Pop Album of the year with their sophomore album A Day Away released on True North Records. With the project My Favourite Tragedy, he competed in Live 88.5's Big Money Shot winning more than $100,000. With a new direction Easton remains grateful for his experiences and the powerful people he met along the way. The title track off the new album “One of the Lucky One’s” is a statement that truly defines gratefulness in a world that seems to yearn for so much more. “The single “Change” maintains a belief that everybody is considering Change in their lives at any given moment,” says Easton, “whether that be a job, eating lifestyle, where they live, who they are with, what they do with the 168 hours they have in every week.”
