Canadian singer-songwriter Tamara Maddalen is set to release the 70s pop-inspired new single “Headlong” to all digital platforms on September 26, 2019. The song is the fourth single to be released from the upcoming album Mint Green Mercury which draws from pop, country, rock and rhythm, and blues.

“Headlong” is an ode to the magic of music and song and its continued ability to save, heal and guide like a constant North Star, always there in good and bad and the perfect response to anything life can throw our way. With its deeply soulful vocals and wistful melody, the song blends brass and woodwind to a laid-back Rhythm and Blues groove with smooth pulses of electric guitar and keys.

Fans of Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, and Sheryl Crow are sure to add Tamara Maddalen to their playlist, however, the songs also fit in with contemporary artists such as Maren Morris, Brandi Carlile and Elle King.

About

Singer-songwriter Tamara Maddalen graces the Canadian music scene with her beautifully crafted songs and clear, powerful vocals. Since 2017, she has been collaborating with producer/engineer Justin Koop (Walk Off The Earth, The Shyp, Tomi Swick, Newworldson) at Burlington’s B Town Sound to record her third upcoming full-length album.

Mint Green Mercury is a nod to fond early memories of cruising around in the family’s 1977 mercury listening to the sounds of the Deep South. This trove of adult alternative original songs is coloured with a distinct contemporary Americana sound including elements of country, roots-rock, folk and R&B, all set to the timbre of Tamara’s arresting voice.

Tamara released two previous solo albums (Self-Titled, 1998, and Feeling Pretty, 2000). After a hiatus from her career as an original singer-songwriter, Tamara has kindled her love of writing compelling, emotive music; motivated by her need to once again share her art with her audience. Recently produced studio videos of singles “Cosmic Fail” and “Headlong” are just a taste of what is to come as she heads into the album release nationwide on Canadian Radio.

Stay tuned for new singles from Mint Green Mercury coming soon and a full-length release in 2020.
