Actress and singer Sofia Carson shows support to protesting US students this week

Sofia Carson has shown her support and admiration for the American students who walked out of class rooms this week on Wednesday (March 14) in protest of Congress inaction over current gun laws. 

The protest marked one month since the horrific shooting in Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, which resulted in 17 people losing their lives. The students walked out for 17 minutes to acknowledge the 17 lives that were stolen.

Carson tweeted: "to each and every one of you who walked out today, the brave, fearless, students, YOU are changing our world. thank YOU. #nationalschoolwalkout"

She also then tweeted a black and white photo of students holding up placards with: 'I should be writing my college essay, not my will', and 'I want to read books not eulogies.'

This morning (March 16), the "Ins and Outs" singer retweeted Miley Cyrus' tweet promoting the 'Shine' charity single by survivors, Sawyer Garrity and Andrea Peña (featuring Stoneman Douglas Drama).

Earlier this year it was also announced that the star has joined the cast of the drama pilot “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists”Carson will play Ava, a beautiful trendsetting blogger and coder, who strives to be a fashion icon.
