Following previous successful releases with Static Music, DaGeneral has returned to the label with a pure club techno offering. Sculpted from roots in the 90s rave culture and harking back to all weekend parties, the Scottish producer puts his skills into making what he describes as an ‘underground sound with club appeal’.

All things considered, Pressure does what DaGeneral set out to do. From the first beat, an unrelenting kick drum drives the entire track, allowing the various synth melodies and percussive sounds to dance on top of a driving rhythmic centre. A high pitched (almost alarm like) synth peeks through every now and then, serving as a reminder of DaGeneral’s roots, and the dark tone keeps the track grounded in a club setting, mirroring the producer’s goal to create a track that ‘resonates with the Berghain scene’.
