Amanda Brecker Returns to her Roots with the Brazilian Dance Single ‘Sua'“Sua” is a Sultry Dance Track Sung in both Brazilian Portuguese and EnglishOFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY Behind the Curtains Media New York, NY | December 6, 2024: Amanda Brecker releases her first dance track entitled “Sua” (Translation: “Yours”) on December 6, 2024. Amanda grew up between São Paulo and New York, as her mother is the multi-Grammy award-winning Brazilian artist, Eliane Elias. She has recorded different styles of Brazilian music in the past and this is her first Brazilian-Funk-inspired track. Despite its name, it is not related to American funk music; instead, it draws influence from hip-hop, electro, and traditional Brazilian rhythms. Over the years, it has evolved into a distinct style that combines infectious beats, high energy, and socially conscious (or sometimes provocative) lyrics. “Funk Carioca” is characterized by powerful, fast-paced, and repetitive drum machine rhythms, often inspired by Afro-Brazilian percussion. The music is closely associated with bailes funk—large, often outdoor parties that originated in Rio's favelas and became spaces for community, celebration, and self-expression. AboutABOUT: Amanda Brecker is a singer-songwriter from New York City whose passion for music has always been a defining piece of her life. Amanda has recorded five solo albums including the 2024 single “Saturday Vibes”, and 2023 full album “Dreams”, her first album that was targeted for distribution outside Japan. “Dreams” features eight songs and two singles including “Man of My Dreams” written by Amanda and her music collaborator, rock musician/producer, Daniel Jakubovic.
