T.I. sponsors prison bus trip

Incarcerated rapper T.I. gave back to the community this Memorial Day Weekend after he sponsored a bus trip for 46 family members of 14 prison inmates to visit Forrest City Correctional Facility in Forrest City, Arkansas.

The star is currently behind bars for 11 months after being arrested for drugs possession in L.A. while he was under probation.

In a statement obtained by MTV News, T.I. said: "I've been blessed to receive tons and tons of mail from my fans, family and friends, as well as get visits on a regular basis. Unfortunately some guys aren't as fortunate.

“There are a lot of good dudes in here that haven't been able to see their loved ones in years. Their families can't afford the trip so I wanted to help out."

The ‘To See a Love One’ bus trip began in Atlanta and Alabama on Saturday and carried the family and friends of inmates to the prison for Sunday and Monday (May 30) visits.
