New single Sober Rebel by The Night Ships

Cinematic debut by The Night Ships

Sober Rebel is the TCBYML debut of Dutch-Australian duo The Night Ships. Their songs have been formed during travels to far-flung corners of the globe, from Namibia, to Iran, to Cambodia, with instruments found on the road. The result is an international project without equal, one that has a story to go with every song - an eclectic mix of trip-hop and folk, spun across moody electro-pop soundscapes. All these elements can be heard on Sober Rebel - imagine yourself drinking tequila in a smokey saloon in the Mexican desert.

Both members of The Night Ships have a long history of music writing and performance - Rob Nakken as a founding member of When Logic Fails, The Light Parade and Querist, and Ingrid Giles as a singer-songwriter, musical theatrist, and the singer of Sydney metal band Ruination. Reviewers have made comparisons to Portishead, Chelsea Wolfe and Ane Brun.

Sober Rebel is released this week on sub-label BERT and available for purchase/streaming on all known digital platforms.
