New release: Not.Your.Regular.Boy. - Crazyland (single and video)

NOT.YOUR.REGULAR.BOY. IS PROVING HIS POINT

Would you walk away from the finals of The Voice? Not.Your.Regular.Boy. did. Not satisfied with signing away control over his image, songs and life, he declined the opportunity to shine in this major event. Instead he decided to act on his own, in close relationship with his trusted producer. And now he is proving his point.

Not.Your.Regular.Boy. is Ferry de Ruiter from Amsterdam. When he was only 5 years old, his father started to dissect the arrangements of the music they were listening to and so make him aware of all the instruments. His inspiration became older music from the 60s to the 90s. From The Beatles to Blondie and from Culture Club to Queen. Participating in The Voice Of Holland he found himself the first person worldwide ever in this show to appear in full drag.

“I’m color, I’m black/white, I’m Everything. I’m Not.Your.Regular.Boy. I don’t wanna identify myself as a man or a woman but as a human, as Not.Your.Regular.Boy. I don’t try to be labeled. For me, music is my life, I seriously wouldn’t know what to do without music. I wanna go my way instead of the way that was laid out for me. The music we will release will be very personal because I’m (together with Mario from VCR) the leader in this project and having that freedom feels amazing.”

So now Not.Your.Regular.Boy. is going for it. Together with Amsterdam producers collective Voice Calling Radio (Sweetwood, Rembrandtpark) he recorded a multitude of songs of which Crazyland is the first single. Expect a mix of Muse, MGMT, White Lies, Empire Of The Sun and Passion Pit. But then differently, because he is Not.Your.Regular.Boy.

Debut single Crazyland is released this week on BERT Music (a division of TCBYML), and available for purchase/streaming on all known digital platforms.
