It’s not often these days that a couple of talented Pop Punk stalwarts get together to vent their anger over an issue in the form of a powerful protest song.

For those of a certain generation, we remember many moments in history where musicians tried to make a difference and be heard the only way they could… through some great music. My generation had Rock Against Racism, Red Wedge, Artists United Against Apartheid. Earlier generations had Bob Dylan and all the anti war songs of the 60’s. Yes, a good protest song is in the finest traditions of Popular music and We’re Not Gonna Brexit by The Remoans is an anthemic reworking of the old Twisted Sister 80’s fist pumper.

Bill and Carrie Remoan both have a genuine punk heritage. Bill’s previous life was as Bill McQueen, guitarist with Northumberland punk favourites China Drum. Courting favour with DJ’s such as Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley, China Drum had three successful albums and would tour with the likes of Green Day, Ash and Supergrass between 1989 and 2000.

Carrie Remoan, the punk rock school teacher, is very worried about the future... a future that she believes will be ruined for her beloved young generation if Brexit happens. Carrie cares passionately about the young, which is why The Remoan's had some clips of K-Pop band, BTS, dancing cut into the video.

"‘BTS are like a Brexit antidote! We want the kids to take back power from a bunch of Old Etonians," explains Carrie.

"We are British citizens but we are also proud to be Europeans. We have enjoyed the freedom to live, work, love and travel around Europe. We want future generations to enjoy this freedom."

Yes, The Remoans are angry… and this is the best way they could think of to show this anger. And yes… they have plenty more to say.
