Catch Mr Eazi in his 'up next' documentary with apple music and performance on the Late Late Show

'CATCH A VIBE' WITH MR EAZI IN HIS 'UP NEXT' DOCUMENTARY WITH APPLE MUSIC AND PERFORMANCE ON THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH JAMES CORDEN

Mr Eazi continues to reach dizzying new heights as Billboard.com announced that he is Apple Music’s latest ‘Up Next’ artist. Joining a select few, which include previously featured 6lack, Khalid and Sigrid, the ‘Up Next’ initiative shines a spotlight on rising artists.

Having amassed over 60 million YouTube views, a world tour that has seen him play venues such as PlayStation theatre in New York, SXSW and dates across Canada, Congo, UK and Nigeria, he also has numerous accolades, including BET, MOBO and African Pride nominations. His achievements to date have made him the hottest Afrobeats artist on the planet and an influential advocate for African culture, which is undoubtedly why Apple Music have highlighted him for success and also why he is the only Afrobeats artist to have been chosen for the initiative to date.

As part of Apple Music’s focus, they have released an exclusive new documentary via their platform, which he discussed in his interview with Julie Adenuga on Beats 1. The documentary is set in London and sees Eazi talk about his journey into music, why the UKs capital is so important to him, how instrumental it has been in his journey and how he got his signature style.

Mr Eazi then went on to be featured on The Late Late Show with James Corden, performing his huge single ‘Leg Over’, (which itself has 15 million YouTube views alone), check out the performance here: https://youtu.be/WF5Tpb34ydo

With a rising profile in the vast Afrobeats landscape, a knack for booty-swaying club smashes, and insider knowledge of the Nigerian and Ghanaian music industries, Mr Eazi’s riding his wave with tactical abandon, knocking hard-writ checks and balances onto signposts at every stop on his way to the top.

Life Is Eazi, Vol. 1 - Accra to Lagos, his current mixtape released early 2017, is a homage to Nigeria and Ghana, the two countries which have influenced the evolution of his Banku sound, the name itself a nod to his favourite Ghanaian dish. Mr Eazi is inching steadily towards the tipping point. His influence is shining through, from the slang other artists have opted to incorporate into their songs, to the how they are planning their tours.

“Almost every song [released now] sounds like a Mr. Eazi song. People who have not even been in Ghana are singing about Ghanaian terms, about Ghanaian girls, because everybody thinks that it’s popping. I’d like to say that I’ve changed the sound, I’ve changed the game. The way I move right now, even beyond sound, with my kind of marketing…everybody’s following it,” says Mr Eazi.

Unstoppable at every stage, Mr Eazi will follow this latest milestone by combining all aspects of the vibrant African Culture, to present the ‘Life is Eazi Culture Festival’ on 29th September at Roundhouse in Camden. London has played a significant role in Mr Eazi’s musical journey and as a special place to him; he wants to share his passion for the culture with the UK’s capital. Music, art, dance and fashion will all meet under one roof as Mr Eazi himself curates the entire proceedings. There will be special guests, including familiar favourites from the UK music scene and big names from Africa alongside DJs, dancers, artists and more, showcasing their talent and the influence of their culture. Mr Eazi will be rounding off the festival with a special two-hour set and there will be VIP meet and greets available as he vows to make the event as personal as possible, putting his stamp on it and ensuring an intimate and welcoming vibe is created, as it is set to become an essential go to event in the capital’s cultural calendar. (Tickets are now available to purchase here: http://www.roundhouse.org.uk/whats-on/2017/life-is-eazi-culture-fest-2017/).
