The Cribs: 'Don't pick on One Direction just because they're an easy target'

Ryan Jarman, frontman of The Cribs, has revealed that he doesn't understand why people constantly attack boyband One Direction because they've done nothing wrong.

Speaking to Gigwise, he explained that it's cool to hear the lads are fans of his music and he thinks it's sad that other musicians like to pick on them because they see the group as an "easy target":

"It's a strange fight to pick, for sure, you know, because it seems like a bit of a cheap shot, it seems like an easy target, so it's not something that I would do."

"I wouldn't particularly find them out because I wouldn't feel that I had any big rivalry with [them] or anything in common with [them] to begin with, you know - it seems very much like an easy target so I wouldn't do it."

Electro-duo Hurts also spoke out about the constant criticism aimed at the 'What Makes You Beautiful' superstars and expressed the same opinion as The Cribs, adding: "I think they seem like decent lads and they're having fun. If you were 19 and in their position then you would have fun. I think they should be left alone really. It's good for the equilibrium of pop to have boybands."
