The Vamps on the importance of keeping fit: 'You feel better about yourself'

British pop-rockers The Vamps have revealed that it's really important to keep yourself in good physical shape because it helps you 'to achieve more' and boosts your self-confidence.

Member Tristan Evans, who drums for the band, explained to Newsday.com that he loves to put extra energy to great use by working out: “I think it’s important for health to be fit from a young age -- you will be able to achieve more. [I’ve seen] a change in look and tone. You feel better about yourself.”

Frontman Brad Simpson went onto add that watching James McVey's progress fitness-wise is inspiring and confessed that it motivates him to be healthier:

"We have all been into sports since a young age. It started really with James getting us into health and fitness in a big way. I’ve known James for three years and to see his progression over that time is very motivating. It regiments you and your dedication towards it.”

McVey, who often shares updates about the gym along with photographs of his impressively toned physique, added: “For me, the gym is fundamental -- it’s where I get my own head space. I’m generally happier in myself. I’m stronger and in better shape. You need to be fit for all the running around onstage, too.”
