The Vamps' James expresses frustration at 'constant rubbish' he hears about himself

Guitarist James McVey, of The Vamps fame, has revealed that he recently heard some unsettling rumours about himself and wanted to clear the air with his fans because his real personality is nothing like the one he keeps reading about.

He took to his official Twitter page earlier this evening (August 19) and told his followers that he's sick of hearing stupid stories about himself and he needs a break from the social networking site because it's destructive to see so much negativity:

"STOP MAKING UP STUFF ABOUT ME. I WOULD NEVER DECLINE PICTURES WITH PEOPLE BECAUSE 'THEY ARE FAT'. DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ME? Frustrated with the constant rubbish I'm sent on personal messages here. Bye Twitter."

Back in June, McVey hit out at the press for taking quotes out of context and twisting his words, and referenced one interview in particular in which it was suggested that he said he'd never date a fan because they're so young he was put in prison:

"Just seen this- honestly never said that about you guys. Don't believe everything you hear. Hope you'd have known me better than that too... People are quick to judge and condemn."
