The Vamps' James: 'I was bullied and didn't fit in at school'

Guitarist James McVey, of The Vamps fame, has opened up about being bullied and feeling ostracised at school.

One of his followers on Twitter sent out a tweet earlier today (February 10) and revealed that she's stressed about how the dynamic works at school: "Everyone's got there little groups then there's me."

Upon seeing the message appear on his timeline, the heartthrob took the chance to reach out and told her that what matters most at school is working hard and getting good grades because those kinds of friendships with your peers tend to be fleeting. The 'Wild Heart' star wrote: "I was bullied and didn't fit in to any groups at school. It sucks at the time but I am happy now :) just focus on being yourself and getting the best grades... I don't even see anyone from my school anymore."

The Vamps, meanwhile, just wrapped up the Australian leg of their headlining tour and McVey told his fans on the social media site that it's amazing to be given the opportunity to travel the world with his closest friends: "Can't express how grateful I am to enjoy such breathtakingly beautiful countries on tour & I'm with my best friends!"
