The Vamps on album two: 'It's inspired by our lives while we're away'

Bass player Connor Ball, of The Vamps fame, recently stopped for a chat with the Birmingham Mail ahead of his band’s performance in the city on May 8 and teased that their forthcoming sophomore record will have personal subject matter.

When asked to describe the band’s songwriting inspirations for their upcoming second album, Ball admitted that they’re dealing with things that happen to them in their lives on the road and turning their own experiences into content:

“We write about anything we like really. Unlike the last album where we hadn’t been on tour, this album has more inspiration in terms of things we’ve done. It’s more about our lives while we’re away.”

The young heartthrob also opened up about the other lads’ habits on the tour bus and confessed that guitarist James McVey is probably the most troublesome to share a confined space with: “Definitely James – he passes wind a lot. Not the best thing on a tour bus!”

As previously reported, the guys spoke about their fan mail and Ball told the Birmingham Mail that they have received some really gross post: "We get sent bodily hair which is pretty vile. And yeah, I mean THAT kind of body hair!!"
