The Vamps' James gives fans an update on his book's progress

James McVey, of The Vamps fame, held an impromptu Q&A with his Twitter followers this evening and shed a little light on his literary endeavours.

The musician is currently writing a novel, which he described as being somewhat dystopian, and explained that creativity has just been flowing from him lately: "I thought to myself, 'I enjoy writing poetry and songs, so I might just give writing a story a go.' It has been six months now and I'm just about to finish the tenth chapter of this book."

When asked about the progress he's making on the book, McVey admitted that it's going well and said: "Good thanks. Up to Chapter 13." He told another fan that it's quite a hefty project and shared details on the page count, adding: "I would guess around 350 but not sure."

He then revealed that he's neither exclusively a cat person or a dog person, telling his followers that he loves "bull dogs... but I love cats too", and confessed that when he's at a party he prefers a low-key soundtrack: "I don't like loud music so something chilled."
