The Vamps confirmed for Christmas lights switch-on

Rising stars The Vamps have been named as one of the acts that will perform at the Christmas lights switch-on event in Manchester city centre next month.

The 'Can We Dance' heartthrobs tweeted about the exciting news earlier this afternoon (October 18) and told their fans that they will be at the festive ceremony to play live:

"It's been announced that X Factor winner James Arthur & The Vamps will headline Manchester's Christmas lights switch-on - Nov 8."

The Vamps and James Arthur will push the all-important button at Albert Square in the area on the evening of November 8 and fans can attend for free. Steps' Faye Tozer is also set to appear.

Meanwhile, the band's Tristan Evans took to his official Twitter page today and expressed his gratitude at being able to play at London's iconic Wembley Stadium during the Saracens’ Heineken cup clash with Toulouse: "Today my dream comes true, I am lucky enough to play Wembley Stadium. I can't thank you guys enough for everything X"
