The Vamps on career: 'It's gone from a hobby to a full time thing so we're very lucky'

British rising stars The Vamps recently travelled to Los Angeles and spent the day with Teen.com where they talked about their journey, career, and what it's like to hang out with their fans.

Frontman Brad Simpson explained that being able to turn a passion into a full-time job is incredibly rewarding: "It was awesome to come to LA and visit the label, and various press. We're at Young Hollywood and it's good. I think it's gone from more of a hobby and now we can actually do it... it's not work and it's still really fun, but it means we get to travel and do what we like for a living."

James McVey added: "We've wanted to do it for ages so we're very lucky to be able to do it full time."

The 'Can We Dance' hitmakers also joked about the fact that they have a devoted fan base, which means they often see a lot of the same faces and remember them all: "A lot of fans become friends because we've seen them so many times. It's a bit awkward after a while! You're like, "do you want a picture", and they're like, "no, not really"."

The lads also credited 'Obviously' hitmakers McFly with mentoring them, adding: "The best advice we've been given is from McFly... our parents have been very supportive from day one, but what we've taken from this band McFly is our stage presence and how to play live."

During the video clip, the band also revealed that their debut studio album is due to be released in April 2014.
