Last night's (September 6) X Factor showed Monica Michael woo the judges with an amazing self-penned tribute to her little sister called 'Pretty Little Sister' which brought tears to Chery's eyes.

However, weeks after her audition, Michael's step-brother drowned whilst on holiday in Cyprus.

Savvakis Alexandros Georgiou died while on a lads’ holiday when he fell unnoticed into a hotel's swimming pool in Ayia Napa on August 18.

The promising footballer was left unconscious for up to 20 minutes even though more than 20 ­people being in the water. 

Paying tribute yesterday, Michael said: “The whole family is devastated.

“Sav was a huge, huge fan of The X Factor and always wanted to see the show and how it was run. I was happy that he got to ­witness it before he died.

“It’s going to be really hard watching the show without him. I just hope that he is on a cloud up in heaven looking down.”

The exact details of the 18-year-old’s death are still not known.

But a grieving his step-sister said: “We’re waiting for the report to come back but apparently he was unconscious when he hit the water.

“The pool was full of condoms, syringes and cigarette butts and nobody could see his body at the bottom of the pool because it was so dirty with algae."
