Mel B walks off X Factor stage

Mel B stormed off the stage on Friday night's (September 27) X Factor after disagreeing with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's decision.

Cheryl had repeatedly swapped singers in her Girls category after they had all performed causing Mel B to leave the stage, as she believed Cheryl had chosen wrongly.

Mel B has the Boys category but believed Cheryl had made a "big mistake" when she selected Stephanie Niala, Lola Saunders, Kerrianne Covell, Chloe Jasmin, Emily Middlemas and Lauren Platt.

Mel B delivered the blow after Chloe-Jasmin Whichello, who was given the second seat in Cheryl's six line-up had her place taken away for another singer but then later given back, when Cheryl changed her mind for a second time.

Whichello stole the final seat in Cheryl's six-piece from Irish Orla Keogh, a singer that Cheryl originally said didn't know how good she was.

Orla, who sang 'Just Be Good To Me' , was told by Mel that things would have gone very differently in her category.

While being escorted off stage by a stage hand, Mel said: 'I think that was a big mistake. I told Cheryl that. BIG MISTAKE.'

With the singers whittled down to just 57, the mentors’ categories were announced ahead of the six-chair challenge.

Cheryl was a popular choice with the Girls and Mel B would directly compete against her with the Boys.

Returning show boss Simon Cowell grabbed hold of the Over 25s while Louis Walsh took on a familiar category, the Groups.
