X Factor Groups revealed

The three Groups chosen for the live shows on this year's The X Factor have been revealed.

Last night's 'Judges' Houses' (October 3) programme saw Louis Walsh and his guest, Tulisa Contostavlos, select Blonde Electra (formerly Blonde Electric), Only The Young and the new boy band.

Concept, the new girl group, and The Brooks went home.

Dubbed 'the female Jedward', Blonde Electra are likely to prove this year's 'novelty' act in the finals.

Walsh told them:

"I love your energy - you're positive, you're quirky, you're different. I love all that. But you know you're not the best singers in the world.

"What I have to think about is, 'Are people going to like you? Are you too quirky?' I'm taking a really big chance putting you through to the live shows.

"Sometimes in this business you have to take a chance. It's been really, really tough girls - I have made my decision. Girls, you're through to live shows!

Only The Young were also chosen despite Walsh worrying that they could be "too nice", he said:

"You're very nice. I think the group is probably a little bit too nice. I'm looking for something with a little bit more edge. I don't know if Only the Young have enough edge. That's been my biggest problem."

With the new boy band, Walsh admitted it was an experiment:

"You have great chemistry and a good work ethic, but something troubles me. An eight-piece boyband, it's never happened before, and I think there must be a reason for that.

"We need fans to connect with everybody in the band and I think with eight people it could be too many people, that's the problem.

But he concluded: "Boys, it's not good news. It's great news!"
