X Factor contestant may be removed from the show after calling Louis Walsh a 'w**ker'

Conor McGinty, who performed on last night's (September 3) show, may be removed from the competition after old tweets in which he called Louis Walsh 'a w**ker' have resurfaced.

Viewers saw McGinty get through the auditions with flying colours after singing  A Great Big World's 'Say Something'.

However, he has previously tweeted: "Brendan O'Carroll to Cheryl Cole 'Louis Walsh is a w**ker, I love that. Haha Couldn't agree more (sic)"

He also referred to David Beckham as a 'big poof' in another tweet.

McGinty has since defended his tweets as they were done years ago and 'in jest'.
