X Factor finalist Marcus Collins is set to cover The White Stripes on his forthcoming debut album.

The singer told The Sun that he is going to put his spin on the duo's hit 'Seven Nation Army' - a song that he is a fan of himself. He said:

"I'm a huge fan of the original Seven Nation Army and I hope people like my take on it. I'm so happy to be releasing my debut album and can't wait for everyone to hear it."

It is, of course, not the first time an X Factor finalist has covered a rock band, with Scottish trio Biffy Clyro getting the Matt Cardle treatment after he won the competition in 2010.

As previously reported, Collins' debut album has been given a release date of March 12, with the singer taking to Twitter to thank his fans for their support and patience.
