Marcus Collins reveals he once wrote a song for X Factor's Tulisa

Marcus Collins has revealed that he once wrote a song for X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos.

Collins told the Daily Record that he actually penned a track for Tulisa - which was due to be her first solo single - but it was ditched after she landed the X Factor job.

However, Tulisa was unaware that Collins had written the song when he appeared on the 2011 series - only finding out when he started singing the song to her. He said:

"I have always written songs. I wrote a song for Tulisa, which she recorded before she knew me, before I auditioned for the show or anything. It was called Breakaway but it ended up not coming out because she got the X Factor job. I think it was going to be her first solo single."

He added: "She was making a roast dinner for all the groups in the X Factor house and we got talking, then I started singing the song. She was looking at me like, really confused, and asked how I knew that song. I said, ‘Because I wrote it love – it’s one of mine.' We had a laugh about it. I suppose it still could happen. She is in LA right now recording more songs then she’s going to Miami to shoot a video so it is all taking off for her."
