JOAN AS POLICE WOMAN New Video: ‘TELL ME’  Watch below

Tell Me is currently A-Listed at 6Music and follows Warning Bell - described by The Observer as ‘plush and dangerous as a snow drift’.Speaking about the new video for Tell Me, Joan says: “The director, Brian Crano, and I became friends when I scored his upcoming feature Permission (released the same day as my album Damned Devotion). I asked him if he could suggest someone to shoot my video and within 5 minutes he had written me back an entire storyline himself. He used the fact that I enjoy creating personas as the basis for the video. I play a variety of characters; a glam queen, a chef who consumes her own heart, a (self-) interrogator, photographer, etc. Let’s just say at one point I wield a unicorn piñata glitter canon… Tell me, tell me, tell me, what (else) do you want? Hope you enjoy!!”

“this is a beautiful soul searching record and the one that Joan Wasser has spent her whole life building up to” Q ****“Joan As Police Woman is as arresting as ever” Mojo ****

“no-one today negotiates the sacred and profane quite like Joan Wasser” Uncut ****

“Joan makes the listener feel and engage with every part of her emotional ride. It’s time to take that journey with her once again” DIY

“her sixth solo set steers her back to what she’s best at: exquisite, tenderly fraught torch-soul songs of compulsion and regret, where the lights are dimmed, the feelings run deep and the hushed elasticity of her voice commands close attention” Record Collector ****

Already acknowledged as a thrilling live performer and starkly honest lyricist, new album Damned Devotion finds Joan Wasser at her rawest. While her 2014 album The Classic was a soulful celebration of life and her 2011 album The Deep Field a lush moody expansion, this new release sees her stripping her compositions back to the core, the bare-all lyricism and timeless melodies harking back to her accolade-winning album To Survive (2008) and the universally acclaimed debut album Real Life (2006). Joan: “My maxim is: if it feels scary to say it, it’s the thing you must say”. And on Damned Devotion the thoughtful lyricism is married to Joan’s most accessible music to date.

Following the release of Damned Devotion Joan As Police Woman will take her captivating live show on the road reaching the UK in April 2018 and including a prestigious show at London’s Royal Festival Hall. Tickets on sale Friday 24th November from: joanaspolicewoman.com/gigs
