Interpol are happy to create growers

Interpol guitarist Daniel Kessler has revealed he’s happy to make music that slowly grows on its audience.

“We’re not necessarily a first listen band,” he said. “If you listen to [a song] once you might have one interpretation, and you might not necessarily have the same one that you have after five listens."

Singer Paul Banks adds: “We abide by the same rules we always have, that we don't live in an easy society, where if people don't get it on first listen they may not get it at all."

Interpol are currently involved in The Creator’s Project, which involves showcasing an art installation at the Coachella Festival in California this April.
