Grammy-winning superproducer RedOne, the force behind many of Lady Gaga’s hits, has told the latest issue of ‘Billboard’ about his work on the new U2 album.

“I'm a guitar player, so it was just me and Bono and Edge playing guitar, exchanging melodies,” he said. “We were just like musicians jamming. I loved it.”

RedOne – real name Nadir Khayat ­– went on to reveal the record is likely to have a “futuristic” sound, according to Bono.

“It's still an ongoing process. Bono described [the album as] "futuristic." U2 going sci-fi, or something. That's how he described it, but I don't know."
