Christina tops empowering poll

Christina Aguilera’s ‘Beautiful’ has topped a poll of the most empowering songs of the last decade for lesbian, gay and bisexual people.

According to equality charity Stonewall, which conducted the survey, ‘Beautiful received 33% of the online vote with Boyzone’s ‘Better’ coming second and Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ taking third place.

In fourth place is ‘Standing In The Way of Control’ by Gossip while Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’ is in fifth.

‘I’m delighted to have been voted the most inspirational pop act by Stonewall’s supporters – my gay fan base is so important to me and this continues my special relationship with them,’ Aguilera said in a statement.
