“Lil Wayne tour not cancelled” – rep

A rep for Lil Wayne says the rapper has not been denied a visa to enter the UK and his planned European tour is going ahead.

Rumours circulating earlier this week suggested the ‘6 Foot 7 Foot’ singer had not been granted a visa due to his gun conviction last year.

“No visa was ever filed, nor were there any tour dates announced, or tickets sold," Wayne’s management told Billboard.com. “Lil Wayne is currently headlining his I Am Still Music Tour across the US and Canada with plans to extend the tour through North America this summer. We hope to bring the I Am Still Music Tour to the UK in the later half of the year."

However, Lil Wayne had been announced as one of the headliners at Ireland’s Live at the Marquee festival in Cork. A message on promoter Aiken Promotions’ website now reads, “LIL WAYNE has been forced to cancel his European tour due to work permit difficulties in the UK. As a result Lil Wayne has cancelled his Live at the Marquee Cork date on 4TH July.”
