Taylor Momsen says that she would die if she didn’t have music in her life.

“I've been writing songs since I was five,” the 17-year-old tells ‘OK!’ magazine. “Acting is something I was put into and I enjoy it, but it's very much a job to me, whereas music is something I couldn't live without."

Momsen shot to fame playing Jenny Humphrey on ‘Gossip Girl’ but has since taken a break from the show to concentrate on her band, The Pretty Reckless.

“I couldn't live without it. I would be dead without music,” she adds. “I would consider myself a musician who also acts, not the other way around."
