Simon Cowell has announced that Mariah Carey will be appearing on the US version of ‘The X Factor.’

“I think Mariah will have a role on the live shows,’ the music mogul told Washington radio host Jackie Brown on Friday. "I met her recently and she was on great form."

However, Carey, who is eight months pregnant, won’t simply be a joining record exec Antonio ‘LA’ Reid as a judge.

“Her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with," Cowell explained. “She'll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits."

‘The X Factor’ premieres this September on FOX.
