U2 have confirmed a batch of UK tour dates.

The Irish rockers will embark on their iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE tour in the country in October and November next year.

The group have so far announced four shows at London's O2 Arena and two dates at the Hydro in Glasgow.

The gigs form part of a wider world tour that takes in North America and Europe.

Commenting about the shows, singer Bono said:

"We are going to try to have a completely different feeling from night one to night two and have some fun playing with the idea of innocence and experience. More to be revealed!"

Tickets for the British dates will go on sale from 9am UK time on December 8.

• October 25 - London O2 Arena
• October 26 - London O2 Arena
• October 29 - London O2 Arena
• October 30 - London O2 Arena
• November 6 - Glasgow Hydro
• November 7 - Glasgow Hydro
