U2 star The Edge has opened up on infamously falling off the edge of the band's stage.

The guitarist made headlines earlier this month for ironically stumbling off the stage as the group opened their world tour in Vancouver.

Speaking to CBS, the Irishman said that he got lost in the music before also losing his footing.

The Edge said: "It was a moment of reverie where I just completely lost track of where I was on stage."

Bassist Adam Clayton meanwhile said that he felt "sick in the pit of my stomach" at the time.

The guitarist took to Instagram after the incident to show off a bruised arm.
